Building your experience
There are many ways to build your experience through opportunities at UEL and easily-accessed activities in and around London. Enriching your experience will develop you as a person and enhance your overall employability.
The Gaining experience page outlined the kinds of experiences which employers look for on your CV and at interview. Here, we look in more detail about how different experiences actually help to build your skills and confidence in ways that are relevant to graduate level roles.
The video explains how mentoring and work placements have helped to develop employability skills in a group of recent UEL graduates. The guide suggests a wide range of activities that will take you out of your comfort zone and help expand your experience and confidence.
As a result of taking part in the mentoring scheme, I feel today more confident to apply for more senior roles rather than just junior roles.
